Historic Hotels of America® | January 26, 2023
MIAMI, January 26, 2023 – Hotel Trouvail Miami Beach in Miami, Florida, is pleased to announce it has been inducted into Historic Hotels of America®, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Hotel Trouvail Miami Beach is one of more than 300 hotels and resorts throughout the country that is recognized by Historic Hotels of America® for preserving and maintaining its historic integrity, architecture, and ambiance.
“Historic Hotels of America® is delighted to induct Hotel Trouvail, a French-inspired hotel built in 1940,” said Lawrence Horwitz, Executive Vice President of Historic Hotels of America® and Historic Hotels Worldwide. “We commend Hotel Trouvail Miami Beach, Greenbrier Partners, LLC, Driftwood Hospitality Management, and the property leadership team for their careful historic preservation work, stewardship, and vision that will allow future generations of travelers to experience this unique historic destination.”
To be selected for membership in Historic Hotels of America®, a hotel must be at least 50 years old; has been designated by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior as a National Historic Landmark or listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places; and recognized as having historic significance.
Located in a rare, secluded area of Miami Beach in a restored Art Deco building, Hotel Trouvail is rich in history and architectural integrity. Built in 1940, the hotel that was once The Greenbrier, opened as a 71-room hotel and became part of the Collins Waterfront Historic District. In the 1990s, it was converted to a condominium building with 41 units ranging from studios to two bedrooms. In 2019, it was relaunched as the Palihouse Miami Beach, and in late 2022, the hotel was reestablished as the independent Hotel Trouvail.
“We are proud and excited to be inducted into Historic Hotels of America®,” said General Manager Alisher Rodriguez. “This prestigious membership is a testament to our dedication to preserving the historic charm of Hotel Trouvail, while continually striving to provide our guests with new, unforgettable experiences.”
Inspired by the French word trouvaille, the hotel is considered a “lucky find” for those who appreciate stylish chambers and an intimate exclusivity amidst the famous Art Deco architecture in Miami Beach. The recent rebrand adds a French flair, promising a St. Tropez-meets-Miami experience and will include a French-inspired restaurant – debuting in early 2023 – with handcrafted cocktails, French pastries and crepes, and an assortment of high-end sommelier selections featuring New and Old-World wine regions.
The hotel has 71 well-appointed rooms and studios – most with kitchenettes – melding hotel service and amenities with AirBnB-sized chambers. It boasts a somewhat secluded nature, situated steps away from the sand and well-known Miami nightlife, while remaining a world away from the commotion.
Hotel Trouvail is located at 3101 Indian Creek Dr, Miami Beach, Fla. 33140. The hotel is owned by Greenbrier Partners, LLC and is managed by Driftwood Hospitality Management, LLC.
