BLAINE, WASH. – (January 29, 2015) – Semiahmoo Resort, Golf, and Spa, an iconic seaside resort located on the Semiahmoo Spit in Blaine, Wash., has hired Megan Wallstrom as director of catering and convention services. In her new position, Wallstrom will be responsible for and directly involved with all meetings and social functions, including weddings.
“We are excited to have Megan on board to work her magic to create one-of-a-kind events that truly exceed our guest’s expectations,” said Mark Andrew general manager of Semiahmoo Resort. “With her experience in wedding planner, conference organizer, and banquet employee, she is a jack of all trades that knows what it takes on all ends to create a memorable experience.”
Wallstrom joins Semiahmoo Resort with more than ten years of management experience in sales, marketing, and catering. She began her career at French food services and facilities management company Sodexo, in Seattle, where she spent five years as the catering and retail manager overseeing the daily operations. She moved on to work with Compass Group where she was the director of catering north end for Boeing in Everett, Wash. During this time, she oversaw the daily operations of a six million dollar per year account and planned events from intimate dinners for ten to yearly barbeques for 35,000 guests. Recently, she has served as director of catering for Holiday Inn Downtown Everett and the catering sales manager at the Hilton in Bellevue, Wash.

Wallstrom earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication at Washington State University in Pullman, Wash.
