ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. (August 5, 2015) One Ocean Resort & Spa – Northeast Florida’s chic beachfront boutique resort, located in Atlantic Beach – welcomes new leader, Marc Bauer as General Manager. With more than 25 years of hospitality experience and specific focus on the independent, luxury, boutique hotel segment, Bauer will look to elevate the 193-room, Atlantic Beach resort’s already exceptional level of anticipatory service, guest relations and revenue growth.

“We are delighted to welcome Marc to our One Ocean family and excited to watch the resort benefit and thrive from his wealth of experience, talent and enthusiasm,” said Sileshi Mengiste, divisional vice president, luxury division Remington Hotels. “Marc is a perfect fit for this role because his background and success speak though his leadership skills, intuitive instincts and creative talent – all critical traits to help ensure continued growth and success for our associates and One Ocean Resort.”

Bauer most recently served as complex general manager of a project in Knoxville, Tn. which included design and development of the region’s first luxury hotel, The Tennessean. Prior to that, Bauer was the general manager of Hotel Duval in Tallahassee, Fla., where he guided the landmark boutique hotel through a $16 million dollar renovation, repositioning and rebranding. Having also overseen several property developments, including the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Asheville, N.C., and been involved in renovations and conversions including the Vero Beach Hotel & Spa and Costa d’Este in Vero Beach, Fla., a memorable guest and associate journey has remained the key focus.

“I fell in love with the hotel industry at an early age and appreciate every single element including the opportunity to weave an experiential story that will be shared by guests, associates and future guests alike. The ability to curate an exceptional guest experience through extraordinary service and development of genuine, caring, lasting relationships is an art I impassion in hotel associates,” says General Manager, Marc Bauer. “I am privileged to be at One Ocean and contribute to delivering that level of elevated experience.”

The 193 rooms and stylish suites at One Ocean Resort & Spa, recently named No. 2 Resort in Florida (Atlantic & Keys) by Condé Nast Traveler and ranked among Travel + Leisure’s “World’s Best Hotels,” are all adorned with One Ocean Docents, which serve as individualized, intuitive hosts.
