July 22–TWIN FALLS — Another extended-stay hotel chain plans to begin construction this year in Twin Falls.

My Place Hotels of America is tapping into Idaho in Twin Falls and Meridian. A three-store, 64-room economy extended-stay hotel was scheduled to open in Twin Falls later this year, east of St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center off Pole Line Road West. The company's website, however, lists a February 2017 opening.

My Place chose the area because of Idaho's fast-growing economy and an opportunity to draw from leisure travelers as well as hospital visitors.

"The market is experiencing tremendous growth in both business and leisure travel," Jim Bortz, president of Central Development Group, said in a statement. "We are building a lodging facility that will give visitors to the area a beautiful building and a comfortable stay at a reasonable price — whether it's for one night or several months."

Each extended-stay guest room will feature a kitchen, with a two-burner cooktop, a microwave and a full refrigerator. The property is pet friendly and will include on-site laundry facilities, complimentary high speed Internet and a 24-hour My Store. Guests can also select a new breakfast-in-bed option.

"The niche we're looking to fill is really between that $70 to $100 range a night," company spokeswoman Ngoc Thach said.

My Place Hotel-Twin Falls is independently owned by MPI Investment Group, with local members Spencer Smith and Todd Ames. My Place Hotels of America has 24 hotels open and operating with a near-term pipeline of more than 18 additional hotels and mid-term commitments for about 40 more hotels to follow.
