March 23–Hotel competition can be fierce, but Scotland-based BrewDog beer company has taken one-upmanship to a whole other level. The independent beer company plans to open the world's first hotels for craft-beer lovers next year, complete with in-room beer taps and in-shower refrigerators — so you can enjoy nicely chilled Punk IPA or New England-style Hazy Jane with your shampoo. It's suds with suds.

"This will be the ultimate destination for craft beer fans seeking hops with their holidays," co-owner James Watt said during the company announcement. "This is a beer nirvana."

The 26-room DogHouse hotel is scheduled to open early next year in Ellon, next to BrewDog's headquarters in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. And crowd-funded construction is underway on a 50-room DogHouse in Columbus, Ohio. Word is, the Ohio hotel will boast not only beer taps and shower fridges, but a craft beer spa and, for guests staying in the hotel's luxury suites, hot tubs filled with BrewDog's flagship Punk IPA.

We can only imagine the foam.

Watt and co-founder Martin Dickie launched BrewDog in 2007, when they were just 24 years old. Today, the company roster has swelled to include more than 800 employees, 46 bars and breweries in Ellon and Columbus, where a new brewery opened in August. Construction on a brewery in Brisbane, Australia is set to start soon.
