Maestro Introduces Web Technology for
The Wired Generation of Guests

Maestro ‘Web Connection’ gives operators total control of all Web and GDS channels

Markham, ON – May 1, 2007 - NORTHWIND, provider of Maestro Enterprise Property Management hotel software and reservation software solutions for hospitality, announced it is rolling out the first installations of its breakthrough Three-Phase Maestro ‘Web Connection’ program.  The ongoing Maestro Web Connection program, initiated in 2006, is based on HTNG/OTA approved XML specifications and extends features that give operators total control of reservations, rates and availability in real time across all online reservation sources. The two-way interfacing feature enables guests to book more business and drive greater revenue for properties.

“The next generation of hotel guests is online now,” said Warren Dehan, president of Maestro’s North America operations.  “They all own cell phones, but they use them as PDAs for text messaging, not for calling.  They shop room rates and book reservations on the Web, and operators that provide a comprehensive suite of online booking tools first, will realize more revenue.”  Dehan stated that the Phase One of Maestro’s Web Connection suite enables operators to utilize Maestro’s expanded ResEze Web booking technology converged with Maestro multi-channel Yield Management to implement uniform rate, length of stay and other availability controls for guest reservations. 

Phase One of Maestro’s Web Connection controls enables operators to develop and deploy revenue optimization strategies for one property or a hotel chain across all Internet channels for total global control of all marketing programs.  Channels encompassed by the expanded functionality include GDSes, third-party Internet travel sites, travel agents, hotel and corporate booking sites, the property or chain’s corporate website, as well as CRO and other voice channels.  Web-savvy online bookers see real-time property availability and uniform, yield-optimized rates at every touch point to allow guests to book rooms immediately and drive higher revenues.  Maestro’s Web controls are currently supported by iHotelier and SynXis, with other channel management companies following this year.

Phase Two of Maestro’s Web tools includes fully integrated online controls that will enable corporate meeting planners to control group blocks, rooming lists and other activities online via ResEze to ensure their group’s stay is always booked accurately.  These new online group booking features will also be available in the second half of 2007 via iHotelier and other GDS providers. The Web Connection will give operators the functionality to keep groups returning and their reservations operation running smoothly.  Phase Three, implemented in 4Q’ 07, will include additional guest centric controls to allow guests to book, build and modify their own package reservations over the Internet.  The new online dynamic package reservation functionality will adhere to property specified controls, while making it possible for online bookers to create their own property experience as they make online room reservations.

When all Phases of Maestro's Web Connection tools are implemented, properties will experience greater productivity and guests will be able to reserve a wide spectrum of package and non-package property activities online with their room booking such as golf tee times, dining reservations, spa treatments, recreational equipment rentals and other activities; keeping the guest on property while allowing operators to maintain a 360 degree view of their guest through the guest centric Maestro PMS integration. When guests book property activities before they arrive, they spend more time on property and their revenue remains in-house.  New Web Connection functions include Online Table Reservations, ResEze Group Management Controls, Online Package Element Building and Condo-Timeshare Owner Account Access, all designed to deliver optimal guest services and improve efficiency.
