April 6, 2005 - Ramesys has been supplying IT solutions to the hotel industry for over 30 years, including integrated front office, back office, sales and catering, point of sale and online reservation systems.

Ramesys’ longevity is due to many things, not least its quality products and valued longstanding customers such as Marston Hotels.  In October 2004 Marston Hotels completed the roll out of Kx Sales, Catering and CRM package from a centralized conference office accessed by the head office, field based sales people and all of their hotels. 

John Cotter, Marston Hotels Sales and Operations Director, explains the impact that Kx has had on the organization:

“This was one of the single biggest investments in technology that Marston Hotels have made in the last eight years and already we are reaping the rewards.  Kx is an excellent system which has helped our sales, conference and managerial divisions gel, working together as one team towards the same end.”

Cotter continued, “The results that Kx delivered to Marstons Hotels included:

  • Increased efficiency in responding to enquiries resulting in increased conversion rates.
  • Emailing documents directly from Kx.  We found this prompts customers to respond faster
  • Actively encourages us to yield manage better
  • Costs saving relating to postage, faxing and copying
  • Increased productivity in staff as repetitive tasks are minimized
“Kx makes our sales team more visible.  I can see exactly what each sales team member does and more importantly, what effect that has on the business.  I know exactly what my people are doing, which helps them as well as me.”

When asked, Cotter was reluctant to give exact details of the financial successes gained as a direct result of Kx, but did reveal that Kx is giving him the competitive edge needed in today’s challenging market.

He went on to say, “I believe that information is king, but information only works when you can access it quickly and accurately.  We wanted to look at one particular regular customer’s spend and trends, past, present and future, across the group in order that we could better forecast and pro-actively market.  Ordinarily such a task would take 100 man hours, but with Kx it took just 15 seconds.”
