Benchmark Hospitality International Appoints Michael van Emmenes as
Director of Food and Beverage for Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Virginia

Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading U.S.-based hospitality management company, has named Michael van Emmenes director of food and beverage for Lansdowne Resort, the landmark property located adjacent to Leesburg, Virginia, near Washington, DC.  David Kohlasch, Benchmark’s general manager at the resort, made the announcement.

“It is with pleasure that I welcome Michael to our resort,” said Mr. Kohlasch.  “He brings a remarkable level of expertise to his new position, gained at leading properties and hotel brands around the world.  His culinary knowledge and passion is a wonderful addition to our food and beverage team.”

Michael van Emmenes was most recently assistant director of food & beverage for Hilton Hotels & Resorts, serving at the company’s Orlando property.  Prior to this appointment he was assistant director of food and beverage for the landmark Palmer House hotel in Chicago.

Mr. van Emmenes has worked in food and beverage for properties in Atlanta, and internationally at hotels in South Africa and Dubai.  Earlier in his career, he worked in the cruise industry.  Mr. van Emmenes attended the Swiss Hotel Management School in Switzerland.   He is relocating to Northern Virginia.
