Benchmark Hospitality International Names Jim Treadway
Vice Chairman of Benchmark's Advisory Board


Will Continue as General Manager of Bardessono


The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, July 2011Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading US-based hospitality management company, has named Jim Treadway vice chairman of the company’s Advisory Board.  Mr. Treadway is the first executive to serve in this newly created position within the growing company.  He will continue in his role as general manager of Bardessono, an exquisite 62-guestroom hotel located in Yountville, Napa Valley, and one of three LEED Platinum Certified Hotels in the world.  Bardessono recently joined Benchmark’s new Personal Luxury Resorts & HotelsSM.   Burt Cabañas, Benchmark’s chairman and CEO, made the made the announcement.

Jim Treadway was previously chairman of MTM Luxury Lodging, a company he founded and which was recently purchased by Benchmark Hospitality International.  A third generation hotelier, Mr. Treadway's lodging roots began with Treadway Inns in New England.  For 23 years, he was with Westin Hotels & Resorts in South Africa, Norway and the United States.  Jim Treadway was appointed president of Westin North America in 1991, and helped guide its growth into one of the world's major luxury brands. 
 
Mr. Treadway attended Dartmouth College and graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Hotel Administration.  He previously served in the United States Marine Corps. 
 
A respected leader in the U.S. hotel industry, Jim Treadway has been a frequent speaker at major industry events.  He has guest lectured at Cornell, Florida State University, Washington State University, Nova University, and the University of Washington. Treadway is a former board and executive committee member of AH&LA and the Seattle CVB, as well as past president of the Washington State Hotel and Lodging Association.  He is also a founding member of Seattle's Lodging Roundtable, and is past Chairman of the Board of IndeCorp, later rebranded as the Preferred Hotel Group.  Mr. Treadway resides in Napa Valley with his family.
