Benchmark Appoints Sam Ackerman Director of Facilities
at Lansdowne Resort, Leesburg, Virginia

 
The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, July 2010 … Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading US-based hospitality management company, has appointed Matthew Samuel (Sam) Ackerman director of facilities for Lansdowne Resort.  The signature resort is located between Leesburg, Virginia, and Washington, DC.  David Kohlasch, Benchmark’s general manager at the resort, made the announcement. 

“I am delighted to welcome Sam to Lansdowne Resort,” said Mr. Kohlasch.  “He brings significant experience to his new position, in addition to broad knowledge of our resort, having previously served on our engineering team.”

Sam Ackerman most recently worked as director of engineering with Trump International Hotel and Tower in Fort Lauderdale, a property he also helped open.  He held the same title in his first appointment at Lansdowne Resort.

Mr. Ackerman has served in leadership roles within engineering departments for hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada, and on both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of Florida, as well as in Texas.  For a time, he served outside the hospitality industry when he was business manager for a Florida-based general contracting company.  Mr. Ackerman is relocating to Loudoun County, Virginia.
