Benchmark Hospitality International Names Tom Cupo as Managing Director

To Oversee Operations of The Chattanoogan in Tennessee and The Inn at Virginia
Tech and Skelton Conference Center in Virginia

- Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the promotion of Tom Cupo to the position of managing director.  In this new role, Mr. Cupo will oversee the operations of The Chattanoogan, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center in Blacksburg, Virginia.  He will be based at The Chattanoogan.  Greg Parsons, senior vice president for Benchmark Hospitality, made the announcement.

"Tom has had remarkable success at The Chattanoogan," said Mr. Parsons.  "He has led the property to multiple awards of excellence, and is also serving as Benchmark’s companywide champion for the national Hometown Hospitality initiative, in which Benchmark is partnering with the USO.  We congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion!”

Tom Cupo was most recently the general manager for The Chattanoogan Hotel.  He previously served in the same role for Virginia Crossings Resort, which was operated by Benchmark Hospitality at the time.  With both hotels, Mr. Cupo led the operations team to Four Diamond status.

Cupo has been with Benchmark Hospitality for 17 years, advancing to leadership positions within the operations and senior management departments for properties in New Jersey, Virginia, Tennessee, Minneapolis and Toronto.   He is a certified Real Property Administrator and Facilities Management Administrator, a designation he earned from the Building Owners and Managers Institute of Arnold, Maryland.  Mr. Cupo and his family reside in Chattanooga.
