MEXICO CITY
(February 22, 2012) –
Mr. Rui Reis, general manager of The St. Regis Mexico City, is
pleased to announce the appointment of Guy Santoro as executive chef
for the
prestigious property. Chef Santoro brings more than 25 years of
international fine dining experience to The St. Regis Mexico City and
will play
a key role in building upon the success of the hotel’s signature
restaurant,
Diana.
“We are proud to welcome one of Mexico’s City’s most beloved and famed chefs to our culinary team at Diana restaurant.” said Reis. “Chef Santoro’s extensive culinary expertise, talent, and passion for fine cuisine will no doubt enhance our guests’ gastronomic experience and truly compliment The St. Regis Mexico City’s unparalleled and bespoke offerings.”
Santoro’s impressive international culinary background as a chef and owner of several renowned restaurants in Mexico City gives him the skills necessary to lead the distinguished culinary team at Diana restaurant. Santoro is the proprietor of three prominent restaurants in Mexico City: Piazza Navona, Meats Au Charcutier, and Rustic Bread Bakery. Previously, Santoro served as the executive chef at the Presidente Intercontinental Hotel in Mexico City. Santoro is also the recipient of several prestigious culinary awards, including Chef of the Year by Intercontinental Hotels of Americas and The Key of Progress Amait for Executive Restaurant Leader. Additionally, Santoro serves as the president of Vatel Club in Mexico and is a member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs.
“I have been privileged to work in some of Mexico City’s most esteemed kitchens and look forward to continuing along this path as a part of Diana at The St. Regis Mexico City,” said Santoro.
The hotel’s signature restaurant, Diana, provides elegant ambiance and flawless service. Guests of Diana Restaurant will be impressed not only by the phenomenal cuisine but by the remarkable views of Paseo de la Reforma and the Fountain of Diana the Huntress as well.
“We are thrilled to have Chef Santoro join our respected team at The St. Regis Mexico City,” said Javier PerezRubio, the hotel’s food and beverage director. “His excellent leadership skills and vast knowledge of the hospitality and culinary industries add tremendous value to our unparalleled food and beverage program.”
In addition to the fine dining presented at Diana Restaurant, The St. Regis Mexico City offers an array of private dining options. For a more intimate group dining experience, The Decanter Room boasts two tasting menus. Wine is emphasized in the ambiance of the room, as several models of Riedel decanters are presented along the walls both as decorative pieces and for guest use.
For guests seeking a private in‐room dining experience, The St. Regis Mexico City offers the option for private dining with home‐style cooking for breakfast, lunch and dinner, in the comfort of their suites.
For cocktails, guests are invited to enjoy libations at The St. Regis’ renowned King Cole Bar, located near the hotel lobby. The bar provides an intimate setting and features wooden walls, referential artwork and a unique terrace with views of the historic Chapultepec Castle and the iconic Diana and Angel statues. King Cole Bar is the premiere lounge for any special occasion, and an inviting venue to enjoy a signature St. Regis Bloody Mary, Afternoon Tea, or Champagne Toast. The lounge also features a sumptuous menu of Mexican Tapas to compliment its beverage selections.
With its rich culinary cuisine and amazing location The St. Regis Mexico City is the perfect destination for travelers and gastronomes around the globe, even more now that it has the touch of Guy Santoro.
