Starwood Hotels & Resorts Opens 124-room Four Points by Sheraton Memphis East
in Memphis, Tennessee

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Mar 07, 2011 -- Here's a Memphis debut to cheer about: Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) today announced that Four Points by Sheraton, the fast-growing hotel brand that's become a huge hit with travelers worldwide for great amenities and honest value, opens its first property in the "Home of the Blues" this week.

Located at 5877 Poplar Avenue on the city's east side, near downtown attractions and just ten miles from Memphis International Airport, Four Points by Sheraton Memphis East also situates guests near key corporate offices, including FedEx, International Paper, and Service Master. An ideal position off the I-240 loop gives guests easy access to almost anywhere they need to go in metro Memphis; world-famous attractions like downtown's Beale Street, STAX Records, the Rock and Soul Museum and Graceland are a short 15-minute hop.

Like all Four Points properties, the new hotel gives guests everything they need to be comfortable and productive on the road, plus the extras they love - all with superior service and modern style. All 124 rooms at Four Points by Sheraton Memphis East feature 32-inch flatscreen HDTV, a best-in-class bed on Serta Presidential double pillow-top beds, high-quality signature bath amenities, and refrigerators.

Great amenities include free bottled water in every room refreshed daily, free wi-fi in public spaces, and free internet access in all guestrooms. Plus, guests enjoy a delicious breakfast with great coffee and refreshing, local beer with Best BrewsSM to start and end the day right.

Two in-house restaurants serve up delicious local cuisine. The Café will offer a full American breakfast every morning, with eggs and omelettes cooked to order. And the award-winning River Oaks restaurant - overseen by acclaimed chef Jose Gutierrez, one of the few classically trained Master Chefs in the US - will serve lunch and dinner daily.

For business, Four Points by Sheraton Memphis East features five banquet and meeting rooms that can accommodate groups of up to 80 people each, including a unique 52-seat amphitheater with tablet armchairs - making it Memphis' best location for small meetings.

"It's exciting for us to introduce business and leisure travelers here to Four Points' great amenities and honest value," said Charles Swan, executive vice president, Wright Investment Properties, Inc., the hotel's developer. "For travelers around the world, Four Points means a great stay, and we're eager to share that with them in Memphis."

Brian McGuinness, Senior Vice President of Specialty Select Brands for Starwood, agreed. "Memphis is a key cultural and business hub, and we think guests will appreciate a new alternative in this strategic location," he said. "Memphis knows a hit when it sees one, and we think this new hotel will gain a lot of fans in the Home of the Blues."

Powerful positioning around value, comfort, and convenience has propelled Four Points to become the third-largest brand with the second-biggest global pipeline in the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) portfolio. Four Points opened its 150th property in 2010, and plans to open 22 new hotels in 2011, including twelve new properties in the U.S., one in Canada, and two each in key global markets including China, India, Thailand, and Malaysia.
