The downtown Louisville hotel began construction on its new front entrance and Stay Fit Gym, on November 7th. That work preceded larger projects, including a new lobby, front desk – which were both completed December 31st – and new restaurant and bar – which has an estimated completion date of mid-April, 2012.
“We are excited that we will have the ability to impress our guests with an enhanced sense of arrival”, said Donna Marquez, general manager, Hyatt Regency Louisville. “We have a completely new look to our lobby and front desk, which is the epicenter to networking and employee-guest interaction, and we look forward to showcasing our new restaurant and bar this spring.”
The hotel’s new restaurant and bar will be named Sway, short for Southern Way and will offer a contemporary southern atmosphere for guests to enjoy Hyatt’s new food and beverage offerings. Guests will also be able to network with colleagues and clients in the bar area while enjoying the open-air, looking out onto Louisville’s popular Fourth Street.
“Our Executive Chef, David Barrett has been with Hyatt for over 25 years and brings the necessary knowledge and creativity vital in opening a new restaurant such as this one,” said Marquez. “Since his arrival a year ago, he has acquired the understanding of key local ingredients which makes the culinary experience a memorable one for guests visiting Louisville, KY. We are very pleased with our stamp in this community and we wanted a place where not only hotel guests could come to relax, unwind, and enjoy good food and drinks, but to where the local community will be able to enjoy home grown products in their own backyard. It truly is the best of both worlds.”
Hyatt Regency Louisville is working with the local architectural firm, Bravura Architects for the front drive construction and is using FRCH Design Worldwide out of Cincinnati for the interior design.
