Andrew Davidson Appointed as General Manager of the
216-room Park Hyatt Washington
in the District of Columbia

Washington, D.C. (August 8, 2011)
– Park Hyatt Washington is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Davidson as General Manager of the 216-room luxury hotel located in the fashionable West End Georgetown neighborhood of the nation’s capital.  Davidson joins Park Hyatt Washington as it celebrates its fifth anniversary since reopening after an extensive redesign and renovation in 2006, and a current renovation of its flexible event and meeting space.

A seasoned leader in the company, Davidson comes to Park Hyatt Washington with over 24 years of experience at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, most recently in Texas, where he held the position of General Manager of the 208-room Grand Hyatt DFW.  Prior, he served as General Manager for Hyatt Regency Jersey City, where he oversaw operation s for the 350-room hotel.  Davidson has also held positions at the former Park Hyatt Highlands Inn, Hyatt Regency San Antonio, Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe and Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay.

Davidson has spent much of his career working with food and beverage.  As a former corporate food and beverage director, he developed and implemented the department’s initiatives, including the hotel wine program. In this role, he was also directly involved with opening 13 new hotels.

REDESIGNED FLEXIBLE EVENT AND MEETING SPACE

Davidson’s arrival also coincides with a comprehensive renovation of Park Hyatt Washington’s ballroom level, which is scheduled for completion on September 1.  Gonzalez Architects and Jane Dillon Design Group, of Miami, Florida have taken the look and feel of the hotel’s distinctive lobby and guestrooms, and incorporated them into the foundation of their design concept for the ballroom and meeting spaces.  The design of the function space continues to celebrate and interpret ‘American artisanship’ in a sophisticated, modern manner.

The innovative redesign also introduces a new name for the redefined space with The Gallery, comprising the hotel’s entire lower level of 10,000 square feet of flexible event and meeting space for guests.  Name changes also include Gallery Foyer, Gallery Lounge and Gallery Ballroom, plus the Drawing Room, which can be split into two separate sections, and the Salon, which can be divided into five intimate rooms.
