Hyatt Regency Indianapolis in Indiana Completes $20 Million
Renovation of its 499 Guestrooms and Rooftop Restaurant

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA (January 25, 2012) – Hyatt Regency Indianapolis today announced the completion of a $20 million transformation that features 499 newly appointed guestrooms, suites and a completely redesigned rooftop restaurant, The Eagle’s Nest. The renovation is the most extensive in the 35-year history of the city’s first premier downtown conference and event hotel and it comes days before Indianapolis takes center stage for one of the world’s largest sporting events.

Guestrooms and Suites:

The new rooms are designed to deliver a sophisticated atmosphere that provides the very best in style, comfort and technology. The scope of the guestroom renovation included all 499 guestrooms, suites and corridors; including 25 Respire by Hyatt - hypo-allergenic rooms – intended to provide a comfortable sleeping environment for allergy sufferers.

“Our new guestrooms and suites are designed to feel like home and they have exceptional workspace, lighting and amenities,” said Hyatt Regency Indianapolis General Manager Brian Comes. “We took three years from research and design to renovation and our guests are going to be thrilled with our new look.”

The new residential-style guestrooms feature ergonomic and spacious workstations, custom woodwork and bright, contemporary bathrooms including 170 glass-showers. Rooms also have the latest in wired and wireless technology, including radio frequency identification guestroom locks, state-of-the-art individual atmosphere controls, iHome stations, 37’’ LCD televisions, and in-room safes alongside mini-refrigerators. Media hubs easily pair the television with laptops and the latest multi-media technology.

The Eagle’s Nest:

Indiana’s only revolving rooftop restaurant, The Eagle’s Nest, has also been completely transformed with a new contemporary design and custom furnishings that create a vibrant lounge and dining room. The Eagle’s Nest offers a spectacular 360° view of the downtown skyline and it was recognized as one of the Top 50 “Most Scenic and Most Romantic Restaurants” in the United States by OpenTable in 2011.

“The Eagle’s Nest offers our visitors an incredible vantage point of our skyline and a unique dining option,” said Chris Gahl, vice president of marketing and communications for the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association. “The restaurant’s recent renovation helps ensure the overall health of our downtown for visitors and residents alike.”

In addition to the panoramic views, a new Executive Chef, John Pivar, brings 20 years of culinary-industry experience and an exciting vision to the menu. Chef Pivar is the author of two popular cookbooks and his seasonal dishes feature local ingredients that are skillfully blended to create a classic American cuisine.

The Regency Club:

The major renovation also includes a new Regency Club that provides an exclusive and comfortable environment for leisure guests and business travelers seeking convenience and a high level of service. The Regency Club offers executive continental breakfast, a fine selection of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the evening, private check-in/out and personalized concierge service.

“We have totally transformed and revitalized the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis in a way that re-establishes this landmark hotel as one of the most desirable venues in Indianapolis,” said Comes. “The renovation reveals a contemporary and sophisticated new look and its part of our renewed commitment to providing our guests with the very best in product and service.
