The 499-room Hyatt Regency Indianapolis in Indiana
Launches $19 Million Guestroom Renovation

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA (October 3, 2011) – Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, located in the heart of Indianapolis’ vibrant downtown, recently began a $19 million guestroom transformation. With completion anticipated for January 2012, the hotel will feature the newest guest rooms and suites in the city.

The new rooms are designed to deliver a sophisticated atmosphere that provides the very best in style, comfort and technology. The scope of the renovation includes all 499 guestrooms, suites and corridors; including 25 Respire hypo-allergenic rooms – intended to provide a comfortable sleeping environment for allergy sufferers. The new residential-style guestrooms feature ergonomic and spacious workstations, custom woodwork and bright, contemporary bathrooms including 170 glass-showers. Rooms also have the latest in wired and wireless technology, including radio frequency identification guestroom locks, state of the art individual atmosphere controls, iHome stations and 37’’ LCD flat screen TVs, and in-room safes alongside mini-refrigerators. Media hubs easily pair the television with laptops and the latest multi-media technology.

Previous to this remarkable guestroom renovation project, Hyatt Regency Indianapolis celebrated the addition of a Regency Club, in April 2011. The Regency Club provides an exclusive and comfortable environment for leisure guests or business travelers seeking convenience and a high level of service. The Regency Club offers executive continental breakfast, a fine selection of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the evening, private check-in/out and personalized concierge service.

“We are thrilled to provide our guests the most updated rooms in the city as we continue to upgrade this landmark property.  The project will be the most substantial renovation of Hyatt Regency Indianapolis since its opening in 1976,” said Brian Comes, general manager.  “This is the final phase of an amazing transformation which includes the opening of One South Restaurant, Level One Lounge, and Starbucks, the redesign of the lobby, and a fantastic renovation of meeting space.”
