The 791-room Grand Hyatt Macau Opens on the
Cotai Strip in the City of Dreams Development

CHICAGO - October 16, 2009 - Hyatt Hotels & Resorts announced today the opening of Grand Hyatt Macau located on the Cotai Strip in the new City of Dreams development. A sophisticated and serene oasis amid the excitement of Macau, the 791-guestroom hotel houses one of the largest event spaces in Macau. With 15 individual function areas spanning more than 968,000 square feet (90,000 square meters), Grand Hyatt Macau is set to become the leading MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) venue in the region.

We feel Grand Hyatt Macau reflects the energy and exciting cultural fusion that makes this former Portuguese colony unique, and a dynamic destination for both individual leisure travelers and MICE groups, says Paul Kwok, general manager of Grand Hyatt Macau. Given the sheer scale, variety and unique nature of its event venues, alongside the world-class entertainment available at the City of Dreams - all of which can be handled through one billing account - Grand Hyatt Macau is a truly integrated destination, and we feel confident that it will be a huge attraction to MICE organizers.

Location
Grand Hyatt Macau, a non-gaming hotel, is a five-minute drive from Macau International Airport and an eight-minute drive from Macau Ferry Terminal. The hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to all of the territorys major transport terminals and to the city center, where guests can explore the colonial Portuguese architecture and other historic elements of the UNESCO-listed World Heritage site.

Design
Strikingly high ceilings and an abundance of glass and natural daylight create a spacious, airy atmosphere. The sleek and stylish hotel features the clean lines of a loft, allowing different functional areas to connect visually rather than structurally. The result is a feeling of free-floating, openness and light, where each space flows into the next. This concept can be seen in the relationship between the lobby and the second floor ballroom, where an entire side of the main ballroom is open to the lobby below.

Guestrooms, Chairmans Suite and Grand Club Lounge
The 424 rooms and suites in the Grand Tower and 367 rooms and suites in the premium Grand Club Tower, each tower with dedicated check-in areas, are spacious and provide uninterrupted views of the Pearl River or the Cotai. Photographic art of Macau is featured prominently in Grand Tower rooms, while original artwork inspired by nature and created by an Australian artist is a distinctive characteristic of the Grand Club Tower rooms. Guestrooms at Grand Hyatt Macau are equipped with the latest technology for guests needs, including bedside lighting and curtain controls, and an AV control panel transmitting iPod, camera and laptop data through two 40-inch LCD TVs.

On Level 35 of the Grand Club Tower is the Chairmans Suite - a 2,960-square-foot (275-square-meter) private two bedroom, two bathroom residential-style guestroom with panoramic city views, offering a security-monitored entrance, a kitchen with seating, a dining area, a work space, and a home theatre sound system. Ideal for private entertaining, the suite also features a separate entertainment quarter.

Encompassing the entire ground floor of the Grand Club Tower is the Grand Club Lounge, a sprawling facility for the exclusive use of Grand Club guests. A 250-seat restaurant with a bar and open kitchen offers complimentary full buffet breakfast, all day light refreshments and evening cocktails and canapés, plus the option of dining on a private outdoor terrace. There is also a well-stocked library and two dedicated boardrooms with natural light, which Grand Club guests are free to use. Other personalized services for Grand Club guests include express check-in and check out and complimentary garment pressing.

MICE Venues
The second level of the hotel is entirely dedicated to event space. The colossal, pillar-less Grand Ballroom boasts a 26-foot (eight-meter) ceiling - the highest in Macau without chandeliers - and in total area covers more than 23,000 square feet (2,000 square meters) catering up to 2,500 guests in theatre-style and 1,500 for a banquet function. Divisible into four soundproof sections, each with its own control room, the ballroom features catwalk lighting and six advanced, built-in 15,000 lumens projectors.
The more than 7,500- square-foot Salão do Teatro (700 square meters) is equally impressive. Translating to show theatre in Portuguese, Salão de Teatro is the first event space in Macau to feature an open show kitchen capable of accommodating up to 50 chefs at a time. Its two video cameras can beam live culinary action to two projectors. Additionally, Salão do Teatro is the only ballroom in Macau with natural daylight. There are eight additional Salons that function as meeting venues, which can accommodate from 40 to 120 guests.

For more informal events, the Pool Deck and the adjacent Poolside on Level 3 are ideal alfresco locations. The Pool Deck is the largest outdoor event venue in Macau and features a stylish water lounge, eight private VIP cabanas and expansive landscaped gardens.

Restaurants, Tea, Bars and Lounges
For its two main restaurants, Grand Hyatt Macau has been inspired by award-winning eateries in its sister hotels. Beijing Kitchen on Level 1 replicates the highly successful format of Grand Hyatt Beijings Made in China restaurant, and is one of the signature restaurants of the City of Dreams resort. Open 24 hours, the 225-seat restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining and specializes in authentic Northern Chinese fare, from classic Shanghainese appetizers to hand pulled noodles and great tasting Peking duck. Beijing Kitchen augments the Chinese dining experience with certain western elements, such as great wine, gourmet coffee, and western desserts.

mezza9 Macau on Level 3 is a restaurant inspired by the renowned mezza9 at Grand Hyatt Singapore. With a focus on Southeast Asian fare with an international influence, the space is defined by giant roughly-hewn granite blocks creating counters and walls as well as an array of lattice-patterned, rusted metal screens. mezza9 Macau aims to stimulate not only the taste buds, but also the senses of sight, sound, smell and touch. As the name suggests, nine different dining experiences are on offer: Macanese; grill; sushi and sashimi; wok; delicatessen; steam basket; patisserie, bar; and cellar.

In the Lobby Lounge, beneath the sweeping Egyptian Ivory stone staircase, there is a wine and champagne bar featuring live music accompanied by traditional Chinese instruments. In the main lobby is a coffee bar and patisserie, which specializes in traditional Portuguese egg tarts.

Recreation, Health and Wellness
Open 24 hours, the hotels Fitness Centre and Studio overlooks the lap pool and features the latest TechnoGym cardio and resistance machines, equipped with personalized LCD screens offering cable TV and music.

Those guests who prefer to unwind at a more leisurely pace may prefer Isala Spa. The latest addition to the Hyatt Pure spa portfolio, Isala Spa is spread over 25,000 square feet (2,323 square meters), and includes 15 capacious spa suites, six of them designed for couples. In the spa, guests can relax in whirlpools, steam rooms and freeze showers, or enjoy a foot rub in the dedicated foot massage room overlooking private landscaped gardens. Isala Spas signature treatments combine the healing traditions of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with proven aesthetic treatments. Therapists and certified TCM practitioners utilize high quality products made with local Macanese ingredients, alongside products exclusive to Isala Spa.

The opening of Grand Hyatt Macau marked the return of Hyatt to Macau. Five Hyatt hotels, including Grand Hyatt Macau, have opened in the region in the past 12 months, including Park Hyatt Shanghai, Park Hyatt Beijing, Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin, and Hyatt Regency Hong Kong Tsim Sha Tsui, which opened October 2, 2009.
