News for the Hospitality Executive |
SCOTTSDALE, DALLAS and LONDON (June 8, 2010) – Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) has tapped Pegasus Solutions for its final ProLinks Webinar before HITEC 2010 in Orlando. Scheduled for Wednesday, June 9 at 2 p.m. ET, the webinar will address continuously evolving trends in hospitality distribution. Tim Unwin, senior vice president of product strategy for Pegasus, and Michael McCartan, vice president of product management, distribution services for Pegasus, will address trends in the marketplace influenced by factors including the economy, innovations in technology, price considerations, availability and profit. As online travel agents also create a demand for more and better data, hotels are left considering how to merchandise most effectively, according to Unwin. “We’ll use information from the four billion transactions Pegasus processes on a monthly basis through both the GDS and ADS to illustrate some of the key considerations for hotels as they cope with the seemingly inexorable growth in hotel shopping via the Internet,” said Unwin. “As we head into the annual learning, sharing and deal-making experience that is HITEC, we hope to prime the conversation for how hotels are merchandised and shopped, illustrate how shopping has grown and technology has evolved, and examine the next wave of influencing factors that will change the distribution landscape.” Pegasus Solutions will also participate in a continuation of the discussion as a panel participant during a Super Session on Hospitality Distribution Challenges Tuesday, June 22 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at HITEC.
