SCOTTSDALE, DALLAS and LONDON (June 7, 2010) – IDG’s CIO magazine has announced Pegasus Solutions as a recipient of the 2010 CIO 100. The 23rd annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT). “This year’s CIO 100 awards draw well-deserved attention to companies that are not only innovating with IT but creating genuine business value as well,” said Maryfran Johnson, Editor in Chief of CIO Magazine & Events. “These winning companies and their IT organizations are an inspiration to businesses everywhere.” “Our next generation central reservation system RezView® NG has been duly recognized by CIO magazine for its rapid implementation and highly reliable interfaces with a wide variety of property systems. Its flexible design allows hotels to manage room and non-room inventory, availability status, restrictions, pricing and policies per property preference,” said Mike Kistner, CEO of Pegasus. “CIO’s annual list acknowledges the top 100 real-world technology initiatives that have yielded substantial business-driving results. While we and our customers have realized the organizational rewards of RezView NG, we are also rewarded in being the only hospitality technology provider recognized on this year’s list.” Pegasus Solutions is the largest processor of electronic hotel transactions in the world, making electronic commerce possible for nearly 100,000 hotels worldwide through an average of four billion transactions a month. Facilitating more than $13 billion in 2009 for its customers, the company is the leader in providing reservations, distribution, agency commission processing, and hotel marketing representation services. It is recognized this year on the CIO 100 with three other hospitality companies, including Marriott International, a Pegasus customer for distribution and commission processing services; InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), and Harrah’s Entertainment. The 2010 CIO 100 awards will be presented at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., on August 24 at the conclusion of the 12th annual CIO 100 Symposium and Awards Ceremony. About the CIO 100 The recipients of this year’s CIO 100 award were selected through a three-step process. First, companies filled out an online application form detailing their innovative IT and business initiatives. Next, a team of judges reviewed the applications in depth, looking for unique practices and substantial results. Finally, CIO editors reviewed the judges’ recommendations and voted on the final 100. Once the top 100 honorees were selected, several honorees were chosen to receive an additional special award. The recipients of this special award will be revealed at the CIO 100 awards ceremony in August. Complete coverage of the 2010 CIO 100 awards will be online at www.cio.com on June 1, 2010 and in the August 1 issue of CIO magazine.
