<>SILVER SPRING, Md., June 2, 2011 --Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) recognized the cream of the hotel crop this year at its annual Convention last month in Boston. The winning hotels, owners and developers of this year's award season for the parent franchisor represent the best of the best within the 6,000 property Choice Hotels family throughout the United States and worldwide. Among this year's award winners were three "Developer of the Year" recipients, five "Premier Alliance" winners, and 15 "Inn of the Year" hotels.

"Selected as winning hotels and owners among all our hotels across the world, these properties and hoteliers have shown a great commitment to amazing guest satisfaction -- they represent the true meaning of hospitality," said Stephen P. Joyce, president and CEO for Choice Hotels. "I feel truly proud of all the owners, general managers and employees of these hotels and they should feel proud as well to receive recognition of such great accomplishments."

2011 Inn of the Year Award Winners:

The Developer of the Year recognizes the best developers in the Choice Hotels system. One winner is named for each tier of core brands, extended stay and Cambria Suites.

The Premier Alliance award recognizes exceptional franchisees that develop properties with Choice Hotels, live up to the brand promise through excellent property performance, and are active in the franchise community. The award recognizes owners who are truly committed to the brand and who work closely with Choice Hotels to enhance the brand's success.

Inn of the Year award winners rank within the top three percent of their brand and are selected in part by reviewing each property's guest satisfaction scores, which are calculated using the results of surveys that are emailed to hotel guests within three days of their checkout. Selection of the award-winning properties, also based on Quality Assurance Review scores, is ultimately determined by the Choice Hotels Owners Council, the Econo Lodge Franchise Association and the Rodeway Owners Association, with collaboration from Choice Hotels among a selection of the company's brands.

Choice Hotels International would like to congratulate the 2011 Developer of the Year, Premier Alliance and Inn of the Year award winners!
