WHITE PLAINS, NY, September 1, 2000� An extensive roster of informative seminars and exciting special events will complement more than 2,000 lodging and foodservice exhibits at the 85th annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show, November 11-14, 2000, at New York City�s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. 

A total of 50 educational programs, addressing a wide range of topics of interest to lodging and culinary professionals, will be presented for IH/M&RS participants.  IH/M&RS lodging programs, with a focus on technology, design and management issues, will be presented by the Educational Institute.  In addition, 15 culinary sessions, presented under the �Restaurant Futurists� banner will forecast consumer and business trends impacting the foodservice industry.  Seminar admission is free for Show participants, however, an IH/M&RS badge is required for entry to all programs. 

On-site special events begin with the IH/M&RS Opening Ceremony, on Saturday, November 11, from 9:45am to 10:00am, in the Javits Center�s Crystal Palace Lobby.  As part of this, The Editor�s Choice Awards for Best New Products also will be presented.  Winners in five categories � Amenities; Technology; Foodservice Equipment & Supplies; Furnishings & Fixtures; and Food & Beverage � will be recognized and the Kenneth F. Hine "Best of Show" Award will be presented.
In addition, a series of after-hours, networking events are planned during the Show.  Among highlights are the 85th annual International Hospitality Ball on Saturday, November 11, at the New York Hilton; and the 20th annual Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design, on Monday, November 13, at The Waldorf=Astoria.  Complete details, and tickets, are available on-line at www.ihmrs.com.

In addition to these IH/M&RS-sponsored events, Lodging will host its Hospitality Blast; the American Hotel & Motel Association (AH&MA) will host its Inaugural Gala Reception & Dinner; the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality (NEWH) will host its �Party of the Year;� the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) will host its annual fundraiser; and seven foodservice associations will host their annual Industry Networking Reception.
The 85th annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IH/M&RS) will be held Saturday, November 11, through Tuesday, November 14, 2000, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.  The Show will feature more than 2,000 hospitality industry suppliers and will attract approximately 58,000 in total trade attendance. 

The IH/M&RS is sponsored by the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association, the Hotel Association of New York City, and the American Hotel & Motel Association and is managed by George Little Management, Inc. (GLM).
