Features Lodging Leaders
WHITE PLAINS, NY, August 25, 2000� A panel of lodging industry leaders, representing luxury, full-service, mid-price and economy properties, will offer their personal insights and opinions about industry issues as part of a �Presidents Panel� program at the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IH/M&RS). The program will run Monday, November 13, 2000, from 1:00pm to 2:30pm, at New York City�s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Moderated by Bill Fisher, president and CEO of the American Hotel & Motel Association (AH&MA), the 90-minute program will address industry issues including: the business environment for 2001 and beyond and issues related to human resources, technology, over-building, recruitment and training, financing and consolidation and growth. 

Panelists are: 

  • Eric Danziger, president and COO of Carlson Hotels Worldwide; 
  • James Evans, president and CEO of Best Western International, Inc.; 
  • Joseph R. Kane, Jr., CHA, president, CEO of Days Inns Worldwide, Inc; and 
  • Kathleen Taylor, president, Worldwide Business Operations of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. 
�The CEO panel will project the lodging industry�s roadmap into 2001 and beyond. CEOs will give their view of the future, discuss strategies and tactics, and offer ideas for problem solving,� said Fisher. More than 50 educational programs, covering a wide range of topics of interest to lodging and culinary professionals, will be presented for IH/M&RS participants. Attendance is free for Show participants, however, an IH/M&RS badge is required for admission to all sessions. A complete schedule of IH/M&RS programs is available on-line at www.ihmrs.com. IH/M&RS lodging programs are developed by The Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Motel Association. Culinary sessions, presented as part of the �Restaurant Futurists� program, are developed by Primavera Public Relations. 

The 85th annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IH/M&RS) will be held Saturday, November 11, through Tuesday, November 14, 2000, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
