Visit Booth 2551 at IH/M&RS November 13-16 in New York! Chicago—Nov. 4, 2010—OpenWays
is pleased to announce that Andrew Sanders has joined its front desk
bypass /
mobile-key solutions company as Vice President, Business Development.
Sanders comes to OpenWays with 20-plus
years of experience in hospitality software development, strategy,
sales and
marketing, primarily working with central reservations, property
management and
enterprise solutions applications. He is based in New Jersey and will
focus on
business expansion throughout the Americas.
Previously Sanders held senior executive and sales leadership positions with MICROS Systems Inc., a leading supplier of information systems to the hospitality and retail industries; RedSky IT, the largest financial software provider to the UK construction industry supply chain; and Multi-Systems Inc., a leading supplier of hotel technology and property-management software solutions. His solid marketing, product strategy and international business development experience will be a key factor in helping OpenWays to further expand its integration partnerships among the central-reservation, property-management and electronic-locking systems supplier community to more quickly grow the business. In moving to OpenWays, Sanders said he is combining three passions: Hospitality, Technology and Mobility. "OpenWays offers a unique solution that has the potential to revolutionize hotel travel in the same way that online airline check-in has changed how travelers fly -- it gives people a better and faster experience when they need it," Sanders said. "The OpenWays solution gives travelers a new choice, and provides hotels with the ability to offer something truly innovative and 'green' to their guests. "I was intrigued by OpenWays from the very first moment that I learned a mobile-key solution for front-desk bypass was being introduced to the hospitality industry," he said. "OpenWays is unique, ubiquitous and a cost-effective means for guests to bypass the normal check-in process, while providing hotels with brand differentiation and the ability to spend more one-on-one time with guests who need or demand personal attention. In addition, by dematerializing keys and cards and sending them over the air to cell phones, OpenWays also is making a significant contribution to the environment. There are no key-cards greener than the OpenWays acoustic credentials which are only made of data." Sanders said he believes that because OpenWays is a truly global offering, guests worldwide will quickly adopt mobile check-in whenever it is offered. "The hotel sector has lagged behind the airline industry in technology for many years," he said. "OpenWays is helping the industry to play catch-up by enabling hospitality companies to offer the same level of service, choice and technology that the business traveler is familiar and comfortable with, and prefers to use." As OpenWays VP of Business Development, Sanders will be reaching out to industry leaders, business partners and consultants to ensure that the OpenWays solution is understood by the market. Because OpenWays is a new company offering a unique solution, he said providing education about OpenWays and the benefits it brings to the industry is a top priority. "As with any new solution entering the market, we understand that there is a learning curve for hotels, management companies, brands and guests with regard to the mobile key / front-desk bypass concept," Sanders said. "I am thrilled to join OpenWays in order to help ensure that everyone understands why this solution is groundbreaking, why it offers a sound return on investment for the hotel community, and how it will offer a true freedom of choice for the guest." Pascal Metivier, OpenWays Founder and CEO, said he is delighted that Sanders has joined the expanding OpenWays team. "Andrew Sanders brings 20-plus years of hotel technology, sales and marketing experience to the table, along with direct sales experience in North and South America, Europe and Africa," Metivier said. "This is invaluable to OpenWays, especially as we look to grow our integration partnerships. We believe Andrew's experience in previously managing partner and reseller relationships will play an important role in the continued success and growth of OpenWays. We welcome him aboard." OpenWays will be on display in Booth No. 2551 at the International Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Show November 13-16 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.
