Launches New Websites and Shopping
Cart
April 2010, Orlando, Florida—The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI) has redesigned its hospitality industry and academic websites and launched a completely new shopping cart to enhance web visitors’ searching and shopping experiences. The new websites www.ahlei.org and www.eiacademic.org have a more vibrant look and feel and prominently feature key EI products such as professional certification, online learning, DVDs, and textbooks. The biggest changes can be found on EI’s new online shopping cart (http://shop.ahlei.org). Customers can view offerings by product type (DVD, book, seminar, etc.) or by category (front office, risk management, food and beverage, etc.). Within each category, customers can sort products by price, title, or publication date. In addition, each product page displays related products, AH&LA member and nonmember pricing, and product availability. DVD pages include brief video clips that allow customers to preview the product. In addition, customers can “share” EI products with colleagues through a variety of social media channels, including e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Digg, StumbleUpon, LinkedIn, and Delicious, all at the click of a button. Customers can also post product reviews online. Another new shopping cart feature is an area specifically for college students, who can now purchase EI textbooks, final exam scan sheets, and digital textbooks—EI’s newest product category. About the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute Established in 1953 as a nonprofit educational foundation of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the Educational Institute’s mission is to support AH&LA by becoming the preferred provider to the lodging industry, hospitality schools, and related hospitality industries both domestically and internationally by developing and providing quality resources to train, educate, and certify hospitality professionals. |
