New Online Assessment Tool Prepares
 Candidates for CFBE Exam

Orlando, Florida, February 2010—Candidates for the Certified Food and Beverage Executive (CFBE) professional certification can test their readiness for the CFBE exam with the new online CFBE Assessment Tool available from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI).

The CFBE Assessment Tool consists of six 30-question quizzes that correlate to the knowledge domains covered in the certification study materials. These knowledge domains include:
  • managing food operations
  • managing beverage operations
  • marketing and sales management
  • financial management
  • leadership
  • human resources management.
After completion of the test, which contains questions similar in format and content to those in the CFBE exam, candidates receive an evaluation report indicating their score and skill level against the required benchmarks. The assessment includes a detailed performance report and a review of missed questions that does not provide the correct answers, but rather identifies where the correct information may be found in the CFBE study guide for further review.

The CFBE Assessment Tool’s purchase price of $75.00 includes:
  • 90 days of access to the diagnostic tool
  • Three opportunities to practice each section
  • Assessment report after each use
The CFBE Assessment Tool is available only to those hospitality candidates who have submitted a CFBE application to EI and have met the necessary prerequisites for that certification program.

The new CFBE Assessment Tool is part of a comprehensive revitalization of the CFBE program.  In addition to significant content changes that better reflect current food and beverage trends and standards, the CFBE resource materials included in the certification fee have also been reformatted into a three-volume resource material CD for ease in studying and reviewing relevant content. Candidates also receive a competency-based exam preparation booklet. There is also a new review session with PowerPoint presentations, new sample exam questions, and new certification exam questions.
