Delphi Multi-Property Edition  Installed At Starwood’s Washington DC Hotels
 
Newmarket’s thin client, Internet-enabled sales automation program lets the 
DC cluster centralize and distribute room inventory to each salesperson for 
real-time cross-selling of all available space 
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (August 24, 1999) Newmarket International and Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. today announced that Delphi Multi-Property Edition (Delphi MPE), Newmarket’s new, thin client, sales automation program, has just been installed at Starwood’s Washington, DC hotels, including The Westin Fairfax, The Westin Grand, and the St. Regis Washington. 

Washington, DC is one of five regional sites in the United States that Starwood will automate this year with Delphi MPE.  The product employs a Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 database and Terminal Server to centralize guest and function room inventories for an entire region or cluster for real-time cross-selling.  Delphi MPE is designed to provide sales teams with all essential information instantly to book more business on a customer’s initial call. 

“With three hotels in the Washington, DC area, we needed a system solution that would allow us direct access to all three inventories, fast,” said Craig Sundell, director of sales and marketing for Starwood’s DC cluster.  “The way Delphi MPE has been configured allows us such tremendous ease in booking and cross-booking properties.  It's absolutely phenomenal what this database is able to do for us.”
