Miami Beach, Fla. – May 23, 2012 – Hospitality veteran Guenter H. Richter, who was recently named as the new vice president and managing director of the Asian-inspired luxury hotel The Setai, Miami Beach , has been recognized by the New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York, Department of Hospitality Management with the 2012 Outstanding Industry Professional Award.

The Outstanding Industry Professional Award recognizes professionals who are dedicated to the field of hospitality and contribute to the college. Richter was presented with this prestigious award at the college’s baccalaureate celebration on May 7, 2012 in Brooklyn, New York, where he addressed the graduating class with words of wisdom they will be able to use as they head into the world of hospitality.

Richter currently leads the overall hotel operations at The Setai, Miami Beach, an award-winning Asian-inspired hotel that embraces the serene Far East cultural style and atmosphere while offering guests a prime location in the heart of Miami Beach.  Prior to his tenure at The Setai, Richter served as managing director of The Setai Fifth Avenue in New York City and general manager of The Regent Bal Harbour in Miami, the St. Regis New York and the Drake Hotel in New York, just to name a few.
