Amy Colangelo Appointed as Spa & Recreation Director for
The Shores Resort & Spa in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida

DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla. (April 4, 2012) – The Shores Resort & Spa has appointed health and wellness industry veteran Amy Colangelo as Spa & Recreation Director for the AAA Four-Diamond oceanfront resort.  A licensed Master Esthetician, Colangelo has spent a majority of her career training professionals at world-class resorts.  In her new role, Colangelo will oversee all operations of the on-site Indulge spa and boutique, in addition to the recreational offerings for families and children visiting The Shores.

The boutique Indulge Spa at The Shores Resort boasts six treatment rooms (one just for couples), complete with claw foot tubs, a Vichy shower and the exclusive Sonya Dakar product line, which is used by industry specialists in Hollywood for flawless skin.

From one-hour indulgences to full-day pampering, guests choose from a variety of body treatments, massage therapies, signature rituals, facial care and salon services.  Unlike many resort spas, Indulge offers customized and distinctive treatments for women, men, couples, mothers-to-be, teens and children (with an accompanying parent).  Many guests prefer the spa’s soothing indoor environment, but some treatments are also available in-room or by the waterside (by reservation).  In addition to individual treatments and services, The Shores Resort & Spa offers a choice of spa experience packages that are available with overnight stays.

In addition to the spa, the Indulge Boutique offers exclusive products and merchandise so guests can continue the pampering at home – for themselves and even for pets.  Indulge is open Monday through Saturday 9:00 am until 7:00 pm and Sunday 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.

For recreational offerings, the resort provides a number of outlets – at no extra cost to guests.   Through a partnership with The Oceans Racquet & Recreation Club, located just a half-mile south of the resort, guests may enjoy Bocce Ball, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and tennis daily on eight clay and one hard court.  At the resort itself, guests can enjoy Yoga, fitness-led beach walks, and other activities, also at no extra charge.  For the more adventurous, surf lessons (for a fee) are available right in front of the resort for guests of all ages and skill level.  For younger guests, the children’s program offers indoor and outdoor activities, including nighttime babysitting services.
