Benchmark Hospitality Home Office Contributes Military Care Packages
to Armed Forces Personnel in Afghanistan

The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, January 2011 ... Burt Cabañas, founder, chairman and CEO of Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading US-based hospitality management company, has a special place in his heart for military personnel, veterans and their families.  In 2007, he spearheaded the establishment of Texas’ only Marines Medal of Honor Memorial

This holiday season, his team at the Home Office of Benchmark Hospitality decided to do something special for military servicemen and women currently serving in Afghanistan, sending a bit of America to those who couldn't come home.  Benchmark prepared and sent care packages to Afghanistan, including books, magazines, special holiday goodies, and letters of appreciation from each member of the Home Office team to the men and women of the military thanking them for their service, as well as general items of use for military personnel.

“We wanted to do something for our service people who couldn’t come home for the season,” said Greg Champion, Benchmark Hospitality’s chief operating officer.  “So we sent them gift boxes including items from home in the US.  It was a great feeling to do this for our servicemen and women.  The letter of appreciation we received back from the commanding officer was extremely gratifying.”
