Gettys Awarded Luxury Resort Project in Costa Rica;
Completes Hurricane Recovery Renovation
.
September 26, 2007 - Global hospitality design, architecture and procurement firm Gettys has been awarded the interior design commission for the exclusive hotel and spa at the $120mm Papagayo Princess Resort development in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The projects developer is Switzerland-based SunVesta, a global owner and operator of luxury hotel and resort destinations in world-class locations around the world.

Papagayo lies on the north Pacific coast of Costa Rica in Guanacaste province.  Characterized by its dry, tropical climate and lush vegetation, the luxury resort will be enveloped by stretches of the twelve pristine beaches on the peninsula and the crystal blue waters of the warm Pacific ocean.   The resort will feature sustainable and ecologically sensitive design to compliment, enhance and give back to the stunning natural surroundings that it will call home.

Gettys will collaborate across all four global offices Chicago, Hong Kong, Irvine and Miami to complete this exciting project, including the exclusive private residence club, luxury spa, and multiple food and beverage destinations.

In June, Gettys completed the extensive disaster recovery renovation of the Hyatt Regency Cancun.

Following the devastation of Hurricane Wilma in October 2005, and alongside the ownership group and OBM International, Gettys assessed the damage to the property and devised a cost sensitive, high-impact design solution for the complete renovation of all 300 guestrooms, guest baths, corridors and public spaces.

The resulting four-star destination resort features contemporary styling influenced by the natural materials, colors and exquisite craftsmanship of Mexico.

Gettys expertise with international project work and prior disaster recover efforts, as well as a keen understanding of the project location and Mexican design sensibilities, has created a distinctive property and a fresh interpretation of todays Cancun.

Established in 1988, Gettys is an award-winning interior design, design architecture, and procurement firm based in Chicago with offices in Miami, Irvine, Calif., and Hong Kong.  Work across North America, Asia, and the Caribbean has earned Gettys a reputation as one of the finest hospitality design and procurement firms in the world.  For more information about Gettys and a sampling of their extensive portfolio, visit www.gettys.com.
