Design Portfolio Continues to Expand With Landmark Project Awards
CHICAGO January 23, 2007 -  At Gettys, one of the countrys leading hospitality design and fulfillment firms, 2006 represented a year of exciting project awards, and 2007 is shaping up to be another landmark year.

Reflective of the hospitality industrys upward momentum for the last 12 months, Gettys has seen a significant expansion in both the amount of projects theyre working on right now, and the diverse nature and scope of those projects.

Historically, Gettys has enjoyed a dynamic portfolio of projects with all of the major hotel brands, including Hyatt, Hilton, Starwood, Marriott and InterContinental, Four Seasons, and Ritz-Carlton.  In the past two to three years, Gettys has also made room in its portfolio for an extensive number of independent, mixed-use, resort, and luxury projects from a broad spectrum of locations.

Gettys Miami office, opened two years ago in response to market demand, has enjoyed a great deal of success since opening two years ago, focusing a great deal of their efforts on the booming resort industry in the Caribbean and the state of Florida.  Recently, Gettys began conceptual design work on the impressive Blue Rose mixed-use development in Orlando, a towering 1,500 unit condo-hotel development complete with destination dining and live theater and entertainment venues.  A nod to both Las Vegas-caliber entertainment and New York sophistication, the Blue Rose was recognized as the Visionary Project of the Year in 2006.  Gettys design will focus on clean, contemporary design and innovative solutions for both amenities and use of space within each unit.   The Miami office is also spearheading work on the stunning new-build Palmyra Resort and Spa in Montego Bay, Jamaica; the Sheraton Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas; and is wrapping up the renovation and restoration of the Hyatt Cancun which was devastated by Hurricane Wilma.

Near their headquarters in Chicago, Gettys is hard at work on other unique projects such as a massive renovation of the historical Blackstone Hotel into a high-end boutique hotel and residences, and the conversion of the charming Cass Hotel into a chic property just steps from the citys Magnificent Mile.  The Chicago office is also leading projects across the country with their centralized resources, including a new-build luxury condominium project, The Towers at Midtown, in Orlando, Florida and a new-build tower of luxury residences at the Caesars hotel and casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Just this month, Gettys also responded to surges in the west coast lodging market by opening an office in Irvine, California headed by vice president and principal, Daniel Welborn.  Several projects are in the works with the team there, and the office is certain to be hard at work on hotels in California and along the west coast in the next several months.

The last two years has seen Gettys every bit as busy as the rest of the lodging industry, notes Andrew Fay, President and COO.  Were excited for the opportunity to expand our portfolio with notable projects like these that allow us to build on our values of innovation, collaborative design, and delivering our clients an outstanding return on their investment.
