Stratton Mountain Resort Scores a “Hole in One” with Datavision’s Golf Revenue Management Module

Applying room revenue management techniques to golf
allows resort to increase golf revenues and volume

WESTON, FL — (MARCH 29, 2005) Datavision Technologies, the premier vendor for data warehousing and business intelligence systems for the hospitality industry, installed their Golf Revenue Management Module at Stratton Mountain Resort. The system allows revenue managers at the property to view tee times by course, date, round type, market segment and analyze REV PATT (Revenue per Available Tee Time) for any given period.

Kyle Housman, Revenue Manager, says, “Datavision has now given us the ability to automatically view RevPATT (Revenue per Available Tee-Time) by the hour, by day or by week. We applied our lodging principles on the golf course. In the past, we had certain times of the day where we have high demand and turned away guests. We now know these trends and offer discounted price rounds to fill the gaps. For example, we can view hourly, daily and weekly trends for tee times on the books and historical tee times. Using color indicators (red, green and yellow), we quickly can view trends and spot booking patterns. The Datavision system yielded significant gains in both golf revenue and round volume in 3 months.”

“We are pleased that the Stratton Mountain Resort started using this module to streamline their golf operations.” says Sudharshan Chary, President of Datavision. “We believe that this module will deliver significant benefits to golf resorts by allowing them to apply powerful revenue management techniques to leisure areas such as golf and spa.  Adding a leisure revenue management module to Datavision’s other powerful revenue management offerings will allow resorts to fully maximize their revenue potential across all areas – rooms, golf, spa, etc.”
