successfully streamlines forecasting process enterprise-wide WESTON, FL — (May 6, 2004) Datavision Technologies, the premier vendor for data warehousing and business intelligence systems for the hospitality industry, recently rolled out their Budgeting & Forecasting Module across American Skiing Company – at seven resorts and the corporate office. Used in conjunction with Datavision’s Revenue Management Module, the Budgeting & Forecasting module enables the hotels to seamlessly integrate data from PMS and General Ledger systems into a single data warehouse. The system allows department heads at each property to forecast their areas using Excel, and provides the CFO / Controller with the ability to make top-level forecast adjustments prior to running ‘instant’ Profit and Loss statements. In addition, data is synchronized between the properties and corporate, enabling corporate users to run consolidated reports for the entire company. Peter Mutty CHAE, Controller/Hospitality Operations says, “Datavision has now given us the ability to automatically mix and match data from our key systems, allowing our department heads to focus on forecasting instead of spending hours manually re-keying numbers. Since the system is completely database driven, we can use Excel as the forecasting engine, but without the drudgery of having to maintain a myriad of linked spreadsheets. This module seamlessly writes our budgets and forecasts back to our corporate general ledger reporting engine.” “We are pleased that the American Skiing Company partnered with us in developing this new module,” says Sudharshan Chary, President of Datavision. “We believe that this module will deliver significant benefits to hotels and resorts by quickly streamlining the entire forecasting and budgeting process.” About Datavision Technologies
