Brian Werner, the LongTime GM of the El Cid Golf &
Country Club Leaves for Start Up Golf
Management Company

MAZATLAN, MEXICO (AUGUST 20, 2000) - Brian Werner, the long time general manager of the El Cid Golf & Country Club and the Director of Development & Special Projects for El Cid Resorts based in Mazatlan, today announced he is leaving El Cid Resorts to lead Recro Sports Concepts, S.A. de C.V., a golf & country club management consortium based in Mexico.

Carlos Berdegué, General Director of El Cid Resorts said look for Recro Sports Concepts, S.A. de C.V. to be aggressive with Brian Werner at the helm. While at El Cid, Mr. Werner returned the Country Club to profitability and supervised the addition of the 9 hole Lee Trevino designed golf course, the upgrading of the existing 18 hole golf course, the construction of the 10,000 square foot spa and fitness center, and the renovation of the tennis facilities, the restaurant, locker rooms and kitchen.

Mr. Berdegué commented, He also secured annual professional and amateur golf and tennis competitions, corporate sponsors, and established new resort amenities such as a golf school, a tennis academy, sailing school, and team building ropes course & climbing wall at El Cid Resorts.

These amenities were not only profitable but also generated hotel rooms, time share, and real estate sales for El Cid Resorts. His talents and work ethic will be sorely missed by all, added Berdegue.

Brian Werner said, with over 50 or more new golf courses in plan, permitting, or construction in Mexico at this time, the opportunity to head an incentive based golf & country club management company that also understands the relationship between golf and the airlines, hotels, timeshare, and real estate developers in Mexico was too great to pass up.

Mexico Golf Industry insiders say, Mr. Werner is an extremely knowledgeable person who always maintains the highest level of honesty and integrity both personally and professionally commented golf course architect Andy Dye.  His understanding of golf course development and operational issues, tourism, and resort sales and marketing; and his ability to maintain contacts with all facets of the industry including obtaining financing is unmatched by most working in Mexico, said Mr. Rea Smith of Puerto Vallarta based Millennium Partners.

Werner who speaks both English and Spanish and has over 20 years of experience in management, sales, and marketing, previously held senior level positions with management companies that specialize in the development and administration of resorts, hotels, country club and golf courses, marinas, and gaming destinations in the United States and Mexico.

Expect Recro Sports Concepts, S.A. de C.V. to grow at a moderate pace.  We have already signed representation agreements (for Mexico) with several United States based companies including Pro Turf Financial, International Club Network, Leading Golf Courses of America (Golf for Miles), International Golf Associates, and Equitrade Partners Golf & Turf Division commented Werner. Recro Sports Concepts, S.A. de C.V. is close to purchasing and or leasing several golf courses in Mexico and is also reviewing several golf course development opportunities at this time, Werner added.

Look for Recro Sports Concepts S.A. de C.V. and Brian Werner to start making additional alliances shortly.  At press time, Recro Sports Concepts S.A. de C.V. was already attracting interest from several United States based golf & country club companies who are interested to enter Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America regions via acquisition or an affiliation.
