• Karen J. Rahn, Assistant Human Resources Director, Hershey Resorts, has received certification as a Certified Human Resources Executive (CHRE).

• Ron Suski, Food and Beverage Director, The Hotel Hershey, has received certification as a Certified Food and Beverage Executive (CFBE).  

• Chuck Gouldner, Director of Safety and Security, The Hotel Hershey, has received certification as a Certified Lodging Security Director (CLSD).

• Brenda Sheehan, Dining Services Manager, The Hotel Hershey, and 

• Erica Petrusic, Performance Plus Manager and Employment Recruiter, Hershey Resorts, have received certification as Certified Hospitality Supervisors (CHS).

Certification from AH&MA, the trade association representing the $93.1 billion lodging industry in the United States, is granted after a rigorous procedure.  Eligibility for certification includes documentation of education, industry experience, or professional development activities.  An application is submitted, and a certification exam is administered.

The Educational Institute is a nonprofit educational foundation of the American Hotel & Motel Association, and is the world's largest source of quality training and educational materials for the lodging industry. 

Also - The Hotel Hershey has been crowned �outstanding� and �worth a special trip� by the 2000 Mobil Travel Guide.  The Hotel Hershey is one of 210 lodgings across the country that has won the coveted Mobil Four-Star Award this year.

Receiving the Mobil Four-Star Award is an impressive feat and this year�s winners include 210 lodgings and 215 restaurants.  �Four- and Five-Star lodgings and restaurants are exceptional, which explains why they represent only 2.5% of all lodgings and restaurants that are rated by Mobil Travel Guide,� said Mark A. Mobil Travel Guide differentiates itself from other travel award programs through their ratings committee, an independent network of national culinary and hospitality experts, which evaluates lodgings from the traveler�s point of view.  This team of experts rates each property based on set criteria and only lists properties that meet Mobil Travel Guide standards.

The Hotel Hershey is one of America�s landmark historic hotels.  Famous for its majestic Mediterranean architecture and décor, the Mobil Four-Star and AAA Four-Diamond rated hotel offers several excellent dining options, including the famous Circular Dining Room, as well as 72 holes of championship golf, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, fitness and exercise facilities and other recreational activities.  Creation of a 17,000 square foot full-service spa will be complete in late fall 2000.
