Seoul - October 26, 1999 - Original artworks by Pablo Picasso and Roy
Lichtenstein, a high tech office, Asian textiles and antiques highlight
the newly renovated, 350 square meter Ritz-Carlton, Seoul Presidential
Suite which occupies the entire 17th floor of the hotel. The presidential
Suite is composed of a master bedroom, living room, office, dining room,
kitchen, and connecting guest suite with private bathroom and living room.
The Suite's contemporary colors and textures set off a world class art collection by 20th century masters Pablo Picasso, Ellsworth Kelly, Roy Lichtenstein, David Salle and Frank Stella. The needs of the millennium age executive are satisfied by an office with personal computer, facsimile, high-speed internet access and, for the all-night work session, a high tech-kitchen stocked with gourmet snacks and selections of fine wine and liquor. In the master bedroom, natural colors and textures provide a warm and cozy atmosphere. The finest accoutrements include Calvin Klein cotton bedsheets on the oversized bed and bubble bath from Provence next to the bathroom's whirlpool with city skyline views. A fully detailed walk-in closet includes glass-front drawers and drop-down hangers. The living room has built-in window seats with panoramic views. Silk textured curtains, bleached oak floors and hand-made Tibetan rugs provide a backdrop for Asian antiques and complementary Asian-inspired custom-built furnishings. Both master bedroom and living room have balconies, enabling guest to enjoy private sun bathing or catered receptions with al fresco options. Surround-sound home theater with DVD; laser disc and movie on demand capabilities are available in both rooms. The Ritz-Carlton, Seoul Presidential Suite has been designed by Oldershaw & DeMann Associates (Los Angeles, California) and is approx. $5,000 per night, based on availability. |
