Palma de Mallorca, July 23, 1999 - Three new hotels have
recently been incorporated to the Barceló Chain in the American
Contínent, specifícally on Margaríta Island (Venezuela)
and Puntarenas (Costa Rica).
Barceló will manage two hotels ín the Venezuelan Island
from now on:

Barceló Hippocampus Beach Hotel, a three stars hotel, with 99 rooms
(of which there are 33 suites) and,

Barceló Hippocampus Villas Hotel, a four stars hotel, with 53 rooms
(of which there are 19 suites).
Both premises are part of the Barceló Hippocampus Resort, located
on the East of the Island, in the fishing village of Pampatar, 6 km away
from Porlamar (Commercíal Capital of the State of Nueva Esparta)
and 25 km away from the Intemational airport, "Santiago Mariño".
Now Barceló Hotels manages three busínesses in Venezuela,
where it was already managing Nueva Toledo Barceló Hotel in Cumaná
since November 1997.
Barceló Amapola

In Costa Rica a new hotel has also been recently
incorporated, Barceló Amapola, situated on the Pacific Coast of
the country, ín an area called Jaco de Garabito (Puntarenas), a
little more than 90 minutes away from the international airport of San
José. |
The Barceló Amapola, a four stars hotel with 53 rooms, is built
on an area of 15.500 m2, surrounded by green areas and gardens, and constitutes
the seventh Barceló hotel in the Central American country.
With these three new acquisitions in terms of management, Barceló
Hotels reaches the number of 24 resorts in America, with 4.930 rooms and
over 10.000 beds only in that continent. |
