The Dow Hotel Company Appoints Alex Petrollini, CHA, as General Manager
of the 227-room Hilton San Antonio Hill Country Hotel and Spa in Texas

SEATTLE, Wash., March 26, 2012—The Dow Hotel Company, LLC, (DHC) a hotel ownership investment and management company, today announced that Alex Petrollini, CHA, a six-year veteran of the company, has been named general manager of the 227-room Hilton San Antonio Hill Country Hotel and Spa.  The property is owned by a joint venture between Prudential Insurance Company of America and DHC, which also operates the property.

“This is a complex property because of its mix of luxury resort features and major market demands,” said Murray Dow, chief executive officer of The Dow Hotel Company.  “Alex brings tremendous experience operating both resorts and  urban hotels serving a corporate clientele, which makes him a perfect fit for  the Hilton San Antonio Hill Country.”

Petrollini most recently served as general manager of DHC’s 369-room DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago O’Hare, which earned its four-diamond ranking under his direction.  As general manager of the Crowne Plaza Portland, Lake Oswego, Ore., also managed by DHC, Petrollini and his team earned the brand’s top ranking for meeting satisfaction.  Prior to his tenure in the United States, he was general manager of the Vlad Inn Hotel in Vladivostok, Russia. Petrollini is a Certified Hotel Administrator and was certified as a Master Chef by the Cordon Bleu in London.

“The hotel is in excellent condition following a $6 million renovation,” Petrollini said.   “The spa was recently upgraded to include  new treatments geared specifically to the business traveler, including a suite of 15 – 30 minute spa treatments designed to be performed simultaneously by multiple therapists. The state-of-the-art fitness center includes sauna and steam, an outdoor lap pool, a separate yoga room and plenty of space to stretch out.  Beyond the exceptional facility, we are in the process of making a number of enhancements to the guest experience, including adding outdoor dining for our business and meeting guests during the week and for families visiting SeaWorld on the weekends and during the summer.  We also are substantially expanding our food and beverage offerings to include such items as fresh Gulf Coast seafood and personal appetizer plates.”

Located at 9800 Westover Hills Blvd., in San Antonio’s rolling hills and surrounded by centuries old live oaks, the Hilton San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa is the closest hotel to SeaWorld and just 20 minutes from San Antonio International Airport, the historic Alamo and famous Riverwalk. The hotel is in the heart of San Antonio’s business community serving Wells Fargo and Citicorp offices, among others.   The recently completed renovation refreshed and upgraded all areas of the hotel, including all guest rooms and public areas.  The full-service hotel features a sophisticated contemporary décor and resort amenities, including four outdoor fire pits, made for s’mores and cocktails by the campfire, and an outdoor amphitheater for movies and live performances.  The SunSpot restaurant and Hill Country Bar are both open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel features 10,000 square feet of meeting space, which combined with its picturesque setting, makes it a favorite among local wedding planners.
