Internet Based Guest Survey Tool 
Being Tested by Unifocus
DALLAS - May 26, 2000 - Dallas-based UniFocus, one of the most comprehensive performance management firms in the hospitality industry, has introduced a new internet-based survey tool allowing guests and employees to provide immediate feedback online.  

The new tool complements two other UniFocus products, GUESTScope, which uses a sophisticated card survey system for guests, and STAFFScope, an analysis tool to measure and respond to critical employee satisfaction issues.  Rather than have guests and employees answer survey questions on paper, the new UniFocus tool allows them to link into a website to provide their input.  Currently, it is being tested by a large hotel chain and ecommerce companies, such as GroceryWorks.com.

As online and email reservation systems become increasingly popular, this tool allows hotels to send their departing guests an email request to fill out their survey online.  In addition, guests can be given a card when they check out or have one sent through the mail that invites them to complete the survey online.  �Internet surveying is the wave of the future,� said John Coolidge, UniFocus partner.

�This tool may be used by both U.S.-based and international hotels because
of the ease in using the internet.  This medium also is a less costly avenue than mail or telephone, and it provides more complete information and more timely reports for the customer.�

The internet survey, which can be customized as needed, can provide more complete information with question �branching.�  For example, if a customer answers �fair� or �poor� to a question, the survey can then branch the customer into more specific questions about that issue, thereby providing the client with service delivery areas that may need improvement.

In addition, the internet survey compiles answers immediately for quicker reporting back to the client, which allows them to respond more quickly to customers with negative feedback.
