ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Brands to Showcase
Cost-efficient Hotel Security Technology
Solutions at HITEC 2003

DALLAS, TX (June 12, 2003) � In response to the current industry need for more cost-efficient operations, ASSA ABLOY Hospitality brands have developed several new products and programs designed to streamline hotel security technology. Elsafe, Timelox, VingCard and INHOVA plan to debut these efficient and economical security solutions at HITEC 2003, the hospitality industry�s largest technology showcase, which will take place from June 24 through 26, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

Elsafe will be introducing an Offline Revenue Share Program, which makes it possible for properties to equip their guestrooms with the world�s leading brand of in-room electronic safe at no cost, while creating a reliable new source of revenue. There is no charge for installation, training, warranty or service. Through this unique program, properties can realize ongoing profits, while increasing both security and convenience to their guests.

The three lock brands, Timelox, VingCard and INHOVA, will also showcase their newest product developments that are all designed to better integrate security technology with concurrent hotel operations, while minimizing installation and maintenence costs.

Timelox will introduce the latest and most innovative product offering, the IR-5 Online locking system. This system gives properties all the benefits of a hard-wired system at a fraction of the cost. Using advanced infrared communication, data is transferred directly from door locks to a central station through an interface that can include features such as energy management. This technology offers many unique advantages, including the ability to instantly cancel any keycard for any door, to relocate a guest to a different room without re-encoding the key card, receive "door-ajar" notification and monitor battery status.

In addition to its new presidio lock that was introduced last year, VingCard has now developed another cost-efficient locking solution. The new Dual Card Classic locking system adds revolutionary smart card/magstripe capability to VingCard�s most popular electronic lock, making it easy to upgrade to dual platform technology without the expense of buying and installing new locks. Compatible with VingCard�s Microsoft® Windows®-based VISION� software, the Dual Card system greatly expands the lock�s functionality and flexibility.
 

As ASSA ABLOY Hospitality�s newest lock brand, INHOVA will demonstrate the anti-corrosive properties of its new lock, the DONNA Extreme. This lock is specifically designed to withstand inclement environments and condensation. The optional PVD (physical vapor deposition) finish is three times tougher than chrome, maintaining the original shine and color by resisting abrasion, dissolvents and UV rays. This greatly reduces maintenance costs, as well as improving the durability of the lock and its components. Additionally, PVD allows hotel designers to choose from a vast array of finishes, including traditional Chrome and new Gold and Titanium.
