at Billion Dollar Borgata Resort in Atlantic City |
DALLAS, TX (July5, 2002) Elsafe, the worlds leading supplier
of in-room electronic safes to the hospitality industry, has just been
awarded an exclusive contract to secure all 2,010 guestrooms at The Borgata,
Atlantic Citys newest and largest casino resort. The $1 billion property
is currently under construction on a massive 30-acre site at Renaissance
Point, a revitalized area of development adjacent to the Boardwalk. When
it opens in summer of 2003, The Borgata will debut as the first new resort
in Atlantic City in over 13 years and the largest hotel in the market to
date. Plans for the 40-story development include 2,010 guest rooms, approximately
120,000 square feet of gaming space, several specialty restaurants and
distinct boutiques, a European-style spa and an array of entertainment
venues.
According to Peter Finamore, Vice President of Hospitality for the Borgata, the management team selected Elsafe electronic safes after an exhaustive search of all the in-room safe suppliers. Elsafes 23 years of experience in the hospitality security industry, including gaming, was a primary factor in the selection process. The current trend in the industry is to form strategic alliances and partnerships with key suppliers, said Finamore. Elsafes longstanding reputation in the industry, as well as their advanced product portfolio, put them in an ideal position to be chosen as a security partner for this high profile project. With by far the most high-volume installations and the proven ability to deliver parts and provide reliable tech support in the field, Elsafe was a natural choice. During the selection process, I was surprised to find that many safe suppliers are actually third party distributors that procure safes manufactured by factories in China or Mexico. If a manufacturer goes under, that leaves the hotel without much recourse. Elsafe is the only safe supplier that is in complete control of the process, from R&D, design, manufacturing and distribution, with local sales and support. That was a very attractive feature to Borgata management. Prior to joining the Borgata team, Mr. Finamore enjoyed a 14-year association with the prestigious Peninsula Group of hotels. He most recently served as the General Manager of The Peninsula Chicago, the latest hotel in the Peninsula Group portfolio, where he oversaw the successful June 2001 opening of the critically acclaimed hotel. Elsafes are also installed in Peninsula properties in Chicago and New York City.
