(Cyber Café) For Locations Throughout the Hotel |
PITTSBURGH, PA - August 14, 2001 - Hyatt
Regency Pittsburgh introduces a hotel café where guests can plug
in, log on and ride the information superhighway.
The new Cyber Café a prototype for the hospitality industry
is just one of the ways Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh is moving at the speed
of technology to enhance guest services and amenities. Hyatt is the only
hotel in the Pittsburgh area and one of few in the nation to have on-site
video conferencing equipment, allowing meeting and convention guests to
link to speakers across the globe.
I travel far and wide. No other hotel offers services similar to the Cyber Café, said Martin Kwitschau, Chief Executive Officer of Hospitality Partners, owner of Audiovisual Techniques, which oversees on-site technology services at the hotel. Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh is the prototype for the industry. Im looking toward the future when guests will be able to walk outside a meeting room anywhere in the world and find high-speed Internet access just as they would a telephone. For now, Hyatt is the only hotel to offer it, Mr. Kwitschau added. Nothing has more impact than adding the visual medium to the spoken word. Hyatt is ready to facilitate one-on-one conversations or multi-city video conferences for hotel guests or air travelers on layover. Other hotels may offer video conferencing, but few have equipment and connections available on site that can be linked anywhere in the world with less than 15 minutes notice. Weve already put the lines in and bought the equipment. Its ready to go, Mr. Kwitschau said. Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh is located at 1111 Airport Boulevard, Pittsburgh, Pa. There are 203 Hyatt hotels and resorts around the world. Hyatt Hotels Corporation operates 122 hotels and resorts in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. Hyatt International, through its subsidiaries, operates 81 hotels and resorts in 38 countries in the U.S. |
