One for 100 Days" Membership Campaign Enrolls 150,000 Rooms |
Washington, August 14, 2001-The American Hotel
& Lodging Association's (AH&LA) "One for One for One for 100 Days"
summer membership campaign recently enrolled 150,000 rooms - reaching the
association's initial goal for the drive's 100-day span from Memorial Day
to Labor Day 2001.
During this aggressive membership drive, properties are allowed to join participating AH&LA member state associations for $1 per one room for one year. To date, several major hotel companies are supporting this campaign Days Inns Worldwide, Inc.; Howard Johnson International, Inc.; Lodgian, Inc.; Meristar Hotels & Resorts, Inc.; Ramada Franchise Systems; Travelodge, Inc; and Wingate Inns International, Inc. "This campaign has been successful because our member state associations understand the first year of membership is the most critical, and they rolled the dice," said 2001 AH&LA Chairman John Russell. "With this amazing boost from the campaign I believe we will have no problem retaining a significant number of these new members." In addition, more than 120 AH&LA allied members joined the association through a variation of the campaign - paying only $100 for one year, which equals to a discount of up to 95 percent*. For more information, contact Bob Ramsey, AH&LA vice president of industry relations and development, at (202) 289-3173 or [email protected]. *Regular allied membership dues are based on a company's annual gross revenue from the U.S. lodging industry. The American Hotel & Lodging (AH&LA), is a 91-year-old federation of state lodging associations throughout the United States with some 11,000 property members worldwide, representing more than 1.4 million guest rooms. |
