| THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Benchmark Hospitality recently
announced the promotion of Jack Schmidt to the position of Vice President
of Sales and Marketing. The appointment was announced by Sam Haigh,
Chief Operating Officer of Benchmark.
Schmidt joined Benchmark in 1992 and served as Director of Sales and
Marketing at Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Virginia. In addition,
he has held numerous sales and marketing positions at such properties as
Scanticon in Princeton, New Jersey; the Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino
in Atlantic City, New Jersey; the Peachtree Executive Conference Center
in Peachtree City, Georgia; and The El San Juan Hotel & Casino in San
Juan, Puerto Rico. Most recently Schmidt was the Executive Vice President
and Partner of The Onyx Group, where he directed much of his efforts towards
their major client, Marriott Conference Centers, designing and conducting
conference center sales training and providing overall marketing consulting.
In his new position at Benchmark, Schmidt will be in charge of all corporate
sales and marketing efforts and will be based in Benchmark�s Home Office
in The Woodlands, Texas.
