Construction Ahead of Schedule

September 15th is close to three months ahead of the Hilton Boston Logan Airport's originally scheduled opening date of December 1999. Early completion was a result of seamless cooperation between Hilton Hotels Corporation, Massport and local companies involved with the project including:

• Carpenter Co., the development manager
• Tishman Construction Corp. of New England, the project manager
• Beacon Skanska USA, the general contractor
• Cambridge Seven Associates, Inc., the architect

Location, Location, Location

The Hilton Boston Logan Airport is centrally located at Logan International Airport, the nation's 17th busiest airport and a regular stop for major national and international airline carriers. A climate-controlled skybridge will connect the hotel to the Airport's Terminals A and E (the international terminal) and the parking garage, so guests can go from boarding gate to hotel check-in in as few as 10 minutes. The hotel offers on-site parking and is just minutes away from downtown Boston via two high-speed traffic tunnels. Complimentary shuttle service to airport terminals and MBTA subway and water shuttles to downtown Boston are available at the hotel.

Unique, One-of-a Kind Design

The first new build for Hilton in several years, extra attention went into the design of the Hilton Boston Logan Airport. The distinctive building is surfaced with two-color concrete panels textured with decorative patterns. Centered in the chevron-shaped building is a 65-foot circular frame and glass skylight, which serves as a roof to the hotel's spacious lobby and entrance. Rising 200 feet above ground, an 85-foot lighted spire in the shape of an airplane wing pays tribute to the hotel's airport location.

"This unusual and beautiful skylight is the first site people from around the world will see as they travel to and from Boston via Logan International Airport," said H.L. Bert James, general manager of the Hilton Boston Logan Airport. "We anticipate the hotel will become one of Boston's most recognized landmarks."

State-of-the-Art Guest Rooms

The Hilton Boston Logan Airport offers 600 guest rooms, including a 75-room Executive Level with private lounge with honor bar located on the top floor. Extra large windows with soundproof glass boast views of Boston's skyline or airplanes taking off and touching down on nearby runways. All guest rooms feature state-of-the-art amenities, including dual telephone lines with voicemail, dataports with high-speed Internet access and conference call capabilities. In-room entertainment and information services, including on-demand movies, satellite cable television, video games and interactive Hilton guest services, are provided by On-Command Corporation. For travelers' added comfort and convenience, mini-bars, coffee makers, irons and ironing boards and hair dryers are available in each room.
