Prime Hospitality Corp. Opens Eight New Hotels; 
Six AmeriSuites, Two HomeGates Open
 
FAIRFIELD, N.J., Jan. 7, 1999 -  Prime Hospitality Corp. (NYSE: PDQ) has announced the recent openings of six new AmeriSuites and two new HomeGate Studios Suites hotels. The properties are all new construction and are located in the Orlando, FL; Cincinnati, OH; Detroit, MI; Columbus, OH; Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK and Fort Worth, TX markets.

The openings of the new AmeriSuites brings the chain to 86 hotels in 29 states, with an additional 16 under development. HomeGate currently has 36 extended-stay hotels in eleven states with eight under construction.

AmeriSuites opened its second Detroit-area hotel, a 128-unit property located at 19300 Haggerty Road in Livonia. The AmeriSuites is adjacent to the 20 screen AMC theatre and is one mile from the Laurel Place Mall, School Craft College and the Amoco corporate office. It is also four miles from the Twelve Oaks Mall and the Koyo corporate office, nine miles from the Plymouth Ice Arena and 20 miles from Windsor Casino.

The third Phoenix-area AmeriSuites opened in Scottsdale at 7300 East Third Avenue. The 128-unit hotel features southwestern design and is located in the heart of Old Towne Scottsdale. The property is surrounded by shops and restaurants and is walking distance to the Civic Center, and is one block from the Fashion Square Mall, one mile from Camelback Mountain and ten miles from Sky Harbor Airport.

The 128-unit AmeriSuites Hurst represents the second Ft. Worth area AmeriSuites and the eighth in the greater Dallas area. Located at 1601 Hurst Tower Center Drive, the hotel is across from Hurst City Hall, seven miles from Texas Ranger Stadium, ten miles from the airport and 14 miles from downtown Ft. Worth.

AmeriSuites opened its second Orlando-area hotel, a seven-story, 152-unit property representing the chain's ninth Florida hotel. Located at 8741 International Drive, it is within walking distance of the Official Visitor's Center and the Pointe Orlando Entertainment Complex and is one half mile from the Orlando/Orange County Convention Center, one mile from Sea World, two miles from Universal Studios and seven miles from Walt Disney World.

The 128-unit AmeriSuites Cincinnati/Deerfield crossing opened at 5070 Natorp Boulevard. The property is the chain's fourth in the city and fifth in the state. It is located near many corporate offices, including the Proctor Gamble Health Care Research Center (one half mile), and is four miles from Paramount King's Islands and The Beach water park, and 19 miles from downtown Cincinnati.

A 128-unit, six-story AmeriSuites opened at 3201 W. Memorial Road in Oklahoma City, representing the second in the market. Located in Oklahoma City's prevailing northwest corporate district -- Quail Springs -- the hotel is within walking distance to XEROX, Louis Dreyfus, Lucent Technology and The CIT Group corporate offices. It is also one mile from the Quail Springs Mall and AMC's newest 24-screen theater. In addition, the new FBI Regional Headquarters is currently being built across the street from the property.

HomeGate opened its second Orlando hotel, a 138-unit property located at 8687 Commodity Circle. This marks the fourth HomeGate in the state. Situated in the Southpark area of Orlando, the hotel is two miles from the Florida Mall and Sea World and three miles from Wet and Wild water park. It is also four miles from Universal Studios and the Orlando Convention Center, seven miles from Orlando International Airport, nine miles from Church Street Station and ten miles from Walt Disney World.

HomeGate opened its second Ohio hotel at 8555 Lyra Drive in Columbus. Located in a wooded lot in the Polaris area of the city, the three-story, 124-unit hotel is near many corporate offices including Bank One, Mettler Toledo, SARCOM and Liebert Corp. and is within one mile of the Polaris Amphitheatre. Known as America's affordable all-suite hotel, AmeriSuites offer oversized rooms with separate living and sleeping areas and many amenities including kitchenettes, irons and ironing boards, coffee makers, complimentary buffet breakfast, business centers, pools and exercise facilities.

All HomeGate properties feature fully equipped kitchens with a full-size refrigerator, stove-top, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. All rooms offer oversized work areas with data port phones equipped with dual lines and direct-dial numbers, and a sitting area featuring a recliner and/or a sleeper sofa, depending on room type. Special services and amenities include weekly maid service, full linen service, on-site laundry facilities, same day valet service, an exercise room, a pool, and 24-hour front desk staff.
