Olympus Real Estate Corporation Acquires
Washington State's Rosario Resort
Firm Also Acquires Nearby Land for Resort Expansion and Residential Development

DALLAS - October 30, 1998-- Olympus Real Estate Corporation, a leading real estate investment firm, today announced that it has acquired the Rosario Resort, a 127- room luxury hotel and 65-boat marina on Orcas Island, Washington, between Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In addition to the resort, Olympus has acquired approximately sixteen acres of adjacent land upon which it has the right to expand Rosario, and approximately 95 acres of nearby land that is zoned for residential development.

Built in 1906 and fully renovated in 1997, Rosario features, in addition to the hotel and Marina, a full-service spa, three food and beverage outlets and over 5,000 square feet of meeting space. As a result of the renovation, all of the hotel's rooms are five-star quality and most have scenic water views.

Effective immediately, the resort will be managed by Park Plaza International Hotels, Inns and Resorts, which is majority-owned by Olympus. David B. Deniger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Olympus Real Estate Corporation, said: "The Rosario Resort, located in the high-growth Seattle/Vancouver market, is one of the Pacific Northwest's premier leisure hotel facilities. Rosario's recent renovation, combined with the adjacent land zoned for expansion, presents strong potential to enhance the property's long-term value. Under Park Plaza's management, we are confident that Rosario will meet its market's demand for high-end resort and conference center facilities."

Olympus Real Estate Corporation, with offices in Dallas and New York, invests in real estate equities, mortgages and securities in major markets throughout the United States. Olympus was formed in May 1994 by Hicks, Muse, Tate Furst Incorporated and David B. Deniger.
