DALLAS, March 25, 2013 -- NYLO Hotels LLC today released design details for the upcoming NYLO New York City, set to open this summer at 77th and Broadway on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. With a nod to the Roaring 20's and the Jazz Era, the hotel's design scheme by architecture and design firm Stonehill & Taylor will capture the cultural and historical essence of New York City while maintaining the urban, industrial style that is the hallmark of the NYLO brand. Stonehill & Taylor worked closely with NYLO Hotels and its design consultant, Stephane Dupoux of Dupoux Design, to infuse a distinctly New York-feel into the NYLO design philosophy—a mix of comfortable and cutting-edge with touches of fun and whimsy. A seamless blend of the elegant and the
industrial will be
on display in all of the property's 285 guest rooms and suites, which
are
already under renovation. Rooms will feature a warm palette of grays,
blues,
and other natural tones paired with pops of vibrant color from accents
such as
hanging lamps and metal doors on storage cabinets and nightstands. Each
room
will be outfitted with all new custom designed furnishings, the
award-winning NYLO
NYTE bed, and other signature NYLO features including floor-to-ceiling
decorative ultra-suede drapery, luxury linens and towels, and original
artwork.
A number of rooms offer balconies and stunning views of the New York
City
skyline, Central Park, and the Hudson River. "This is NYLO's second conversion property,
and our
first in New York City," explained Michael Mueller , CEO, NYLO Hotels.
"This property is a diamond in the rough: it has historic charm and
unique
character that reflect its surroundings, larger-than-average guest
rooms,
plenty of natural light and outdoor space, great restaurant venues and
the
opportunity to add a destination lobby bar. On top of that, it's in a
quintessential New York City neighborhood that's ideal for business and
leisure
travelers: minutes from almost anywhere in Manhattan and a short walk
from
Central Park, with the charm and amenities of a residential
neighborhood." As with each NYLO property, NYLO New York
City will showcase
hundreds of pieces of original artwork from emerging local artists.
Placed
throughout the hotel's guest rooms and public spaces, the paintings
capture the
spirit and energy of New York City. The artwork was commissioned
through a
recent contest that sought original paintings created specifically for
the
hotel. In addition to updated guest rooms and
suites, NYLO New York
City will feature a brand new lobby and bar that will complement the
hotel's
overall design aesthetic while showcasing the building's historic
details and
industrial core. NYLO New York City is also home to three highly
popular and
innovative restaurants: Serafina Upper West Side, Geisha Table and Red
Farm ,
which is also currently under construction and scheduled to make its
Upper West
Side debut in the next few months. NYLO New York City—owned by an
affiliate of
Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.—will replace the existing On The Ave
Hotel, which
will remain open during renovations. The property will be NYLO's fifth
hotel,
joining its other properties in Dallas, Texas; Las Colinas, Texas;
Plano, Texas
and Warwick, Rhode Island. About NYLO Hotels About Stonehill & Taylor |
