March 20-22, 2013 Set for 25th Annual Hunter Hotel Conference

Silver Anniversary Event Theme, “Moving Forward with Confidence,”
Reflects Continued Strengthening of Hotel Industry

ATLANTA, October 23, 2012—Officials of the Hunter Hotel Conference, one of the nation’s top four hotel investment conferences, today announced that it will host its 25th annual gathering March 20 – 22, 2013 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, Ga.

The 2013 conference theme, “Moving Forward with Confidence,” reflects the continued strengthening of the hotel industry, according to event organizers.   Conference topics and speakers currently are being finalized and will be announced at a later date.

“When we began the conference in 1989, the hotel industry was on the verge of one of the greatest devaluations of hotel real estate in modern history due to the meltdown of the savings and loan industry,” said Bob Hunter, CEO of Hunter Realty and co-chair of the Hunter Conference.  “The industry is now in its fourth cycle since the conference began and is in the midst of a solid rebound.”
The Silver Anniversary event will feature an extensive line-up of the industry’s most influential leaders and experts speaking on an array of timely hotel real estate and finance topics.  The educational format will be augmented with extensive networking opportunities.
The conference annually attracts more than 800 of the nation’s leading hotel owners, investors, lenders, franchisers and industry leaders, and gives attendees a unique opportunity for a Wall Street meets Main Street atmosphere.
“Since 1989, the Hunter Conference’s focus and content has been on the hotel owner,” said Lee Hunter, conference co-chair and COO of Hunter Realty.   “Nearly forty-percent of our attendees are owners, the highest percentage of any of the major conferences.   With the continued rebound in the hotel industry, we believe the topics that will generate the greatest interest will be availability of financing, as well as development and acquisition opportunities.  We are building those key factors into our 2013 content.”

In its 25th year, The Hunter Conference, a national owner’s investment event, has attracted hotel owners from across the country.  Proceeds from the Hunter Conference benefit students of Georgia State University’s Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality.  For more information about the program, sponsorship opportunities and on-line registration, please visit the conference website at or contact Nancy Petenbrink, conference director, at 770-916-0300.
